History

Keey 4 Kommunities, inc. was launched as a philanthropic effort in partnership with Keey 2 Kids, a multi-service educational firm. In 2009, founder Wykesha Hayes coupled her efforts with concerned community stakeholders. It was and continues to be the belief that Houston area communities are indeed worth restoring.

 

Historical Highlights

2009- Incorporating documents were submitted to the Texas Secretary of State to form Keey 4 Kommunities a 501(c)(3) organization.

In July of 2009, Wykesha dedicated her 30th birthday to launching the K4K efforts. The organization hosted the inaugural Bowl 4 a Benefit Drive that raised school uniforms and school supplies for underserved families in the Fresno/Arcola area. In partnership with a local church K4K was able to serve over 100 kids with their donations.

2010- Partnership with the Bella Epique located in the historical museum district in Houston, TX launched the Annual Fall Frenzy which serves as a fun-filled community event.

2011- K4K received its federal tax exemption status from the IRS under the governance of Board Members, Kimberly Hardison, Dr. Claudine Simpson and Jessica Shandy.

In June 2011 Keey 4 Kommunities in partnership with its sister company hosted a 4 day Power Up Personal Brand Development Institute at the University of Houston for 32 middle and high school students.

2012- Launched the first recreational and competitive Team Kemistry Basketball program for 3rd and 4th grade boys. Over 40 boys were served in its inaugural season, with the 3rd grade Class of 2012 eventually earning recognition as the Houston area 4th ranked team via RCS Sports.
